3. Rental Duration

5. Payment Methods
- Vibe Rentals accepts the following payment methods:
- Credit Cards: Visa, MasterCard.
- Debit Cards: Visa and MasterCard debit cards. - Security Deposit: A security deposit will be held on the credit or debit card provided at the time of pick-up and will be refunded upon the safe return of the vehicle.
- Prepayment: Full payment is required at the time of booking.
- Currency: All payments are processed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).
6. Cancellation Policy
- More than 22 days before pick-up: No cancellation fee. Full refund.
- 7-21 days before pick-up: 20% of the total rental cost is charged.
- 1-6 days before pick-up: 50% of the total rental cost is charged.
- On the day of pick-up or no show: 100% of the total rental cost is charged (no refund).
7. Modification Policy
- Free modifications are allowed up to 48 hours before the rental begins, subject to availability.
- Any changes to dates, locations, or vehicle type may affect the rental price.
8. Vehicle Use
1. Allowed Driving Areas:
- Vibe Rentals’ vehicles are permitted on all sealed roads and well-maintained gravel roads in New Zealand.
- Prohibited Areas:
- Vehicles are not permitted on Skippers Road, Ball Hutt Road, Ninety Mile Beach, or any beach, unsealed tracks, or off-road areas that are not well-maintained.
- Driving on any roads that are closed or restricted by local authorities or have been marked as unsafe is strictly prohibited.
2. Fuel Policy:
- The campervan will be supplied with a full tank of fuel at the time of pick-up.
- Return Policy: The vehicle must be returned with a full tank of fuel. If the vehicle is returned with less than a full tank, the cost of refueling will be deducted from the security deposit, and a refueling fee may apply.
3. Vehicle Operation:
- The renter is responsible for operating the vehicle in a safe and lawful manner at all times.
- All traffic laws, including speed limits, parking regulations, and road signs, must be adhered to.
- Overhead Clearance: Care must be taken when driving under low clearances (e.g., bridges or tunnels). Damage to the vehicle's roof or overhead structures is not covered by insurance and will be the responsibility of the renter.
- The vehicle must not be used for any form of racing, testing, or illegal activities.
4. Vehicle Occupancy:
- The maximum number of passengers allowed in the vehicle is determined by the number of seatbelts installed.
- Overloading the vehicle beyond its legal capacity is strictly prohibited and may result in cancellation of the rental agreement.
5. Smoking and Pets:
- Smoking: Smoking is not permitted inside any Vibe Rentals vehicles.
- Pets: Pets are allowed in designated pet-friendly vehicles only. Please notify us in advance if you wish to bring a pet. Additional cleaning fees may apply.
6. Toll Roads and Fines:
- The renter is responsible for any tolls, parking fines, speeding tickets, or other traffic violations incurred during the rental period.
- Any fines or charges received by Vibe Rentals after the rental period will be forwarded to the renter, along with an administration fee.
9. Breakdowns and Accidents
1. Breakdowns:
- 24/7 Roadside Assistance: Vibe Rentals provides 24/7 roadside assistance throughout New Zealand. If you experience a mechanical breakdown, contact our roadside assistance team immediately using the phone number provided in your rental agreement.
- Minor Repairs: For minor repairs (up to NZD 100), the renter may authorize the repair without prior approval. Please keep all receipts, and we will reimburse you upon the return of the vehicle. For repairs exceeding NZD 100,
approval from Vibe Rentals is required. - Mechanical Issues: If the vehicle becomes unfit to drive due to mechanical failure not caused by the renter’s actions, Vibe Rentals will, where possible, provide a replacement vehicle or reimburse the remaining rental period.
- Non-Mechanical Issues: Issues such as flat tires or windscreen damage are the renter’s responsibility unless covered by additional insurance. Contact our roadside assistance team for help with these issues.
2. Accidents:
- Accident Reporting: In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately notify Vibe Rentals and the local authorities (if required). A police report is required if there is damage to third-party property or personal injury involved.
- Accident Responsibility: The renter is responsible for all damage to the vehicle resulting from an accident, unless covered by insurance. In cases where the renter is at fault, the renter will be responsible for the insurance
excess. - Third-Party Damage: The renter is liable for any damage caused to third- party property. This includes other vehicles, buildings, or any public property.
- Insurance Claims: All accidents must be reported to Vibe Rentals and the necessary insurance claim forms completed. Failure to report an accident may result in the renter being liable for the full cost of the damage.
- Replacement Vehicle: In the event of an accident, Vibe Rentals may provide a replacement vehicle, subject to availability and the renter’s adherence to the terms of the rental agreement. If a replacement vehicle is not available, a refund may be issued for the remaining rental period.
3. Towing and Damage Costs:
- The renter is responsible for any towing, recovery, or damage costs resulting from incidents caused by negligence, off-road driving, or restricted road use.
4. No Unauthorized Repairs:
- The renter is not permitted to arrange repairs or make modifications to the vehicle without Vibe Rentals prior approval, except for minor repairs as outlined above.
10. Vehicle Condition
1. Pre-Rental Inspection:
- All Vibe Rentals vehicles are thoroughly inspected before each rental to ensure they are in roadworthy condition.
- A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both the renter and a Vibe Rentals representative at the time of pick-up. The report will note any pre-existing damage or issues.
- It is the renter’s responsibility to inspect the vehicle and agree with the condition report before departure. Any discrepancies must be reported before leaving the depot.
2. Return Condition:
- The vehicle must be returned in the same condition in which it was rented, excluding normal wear and tear.
- All equipment and accessories provided (e.g., kitchenware, bedding, outdoor furniture) must be returned in good condition. Missing or damaged items may result in additional charges.
- Cleaning: Vibe Rentals will take responsibility for cleaning the exterior of the vehicle upon its return. Renters are required to clean the interior of the vehicle before returning it. A cleaning fee may be applied if the interior is excessively dirty.
- If used, the toilet in the vehicle must be returned emptied and cleaned, in the same condition as at the start of the hire. Failure to comply will incur an additional cleaning and emptying fee of $200.00
3. Fuel and Fluids:
- The vehicle will be provided with a full tank of fuel. It must be returned with a full tank, or refueling charges will apply.
- Renters are responsible for checking and maintaining engine oil, coolant, and other fluids during the rental period. Failure to maintain proper fluid levels may result in damage to the vehicle, for which the renter will be liable
4. Windscreen and Tire Condition:
- The condition of the windscreen and tires will be documented at the time of pick-up.
- Renters are responsible for any damage to the windscreen or tires during the rental period unless additional insurance or coverage has been purchased.
- Any damage to tires or the windscreen that affects the safe operation of the vehicle must be repaired or reported to Vibe Rentals immediately.
5. Damage Responsibility:
- The renter is liable for any damage caused to the vehicle during the rental period, including scratches, dents, and interior damage.
- Damage to the vehicle's roof, underbody, or interior due to negligence, improper use, or failure to comply with the terms of the rental agreement will not be covered by insurance and will be the renter's full responsibility.
6. End-of-Rental Inspection:
- Upon return, a final inspection will be conducted by a Vibe Rentals representative. Any new damage or missing items will be documented, and the cost of repairs or replacements will be deducted from the security deposit.
7. Late Returns:
- If the vehicle is returned late, Vibe Rentals reserves the right to charge an additional daily rental fee. If you anticipate being late, please notify us in advance to avoid penalties.
11. Late Returns
1. Late Return Policy:
- Vehicles must be returned by the agreed-upon drop-off time as stated in your rental agreement. Late returns disrupt the schedules of future renters and may result in additional charges.
2. Grace Period:
- Vibe Rentals allows a grace period of 60 minutes beyond the scheduled drop- off time. If the vehicle is returned within this grace period, no late fee will apply.
3. Late Return Charges:
- If the vehicle is returned more than 60 minutes after the agreed drop-off time without prior notice, Vibe Rentals reserves the right to charge an additional daily rental fee at the applicable rate.
- Late returns may also incur additional administrative fees if they affect the next rental.
4. Notification of Delay:
- If you anticipate returning the vehicle late, please contact Vibe Rentals as soon as possible. In some cases, arrangements can be made to accommodate a later return, subject to availability.
- Failure to notify Vibe Rentals of a late return may result in further charges.
5. Early Returns:
- If you return the vehicle earlier than the agreed rental period, no refunds will be provided for the unused days.
12. Rental Extensions
1. Requesting an Extension:
- If you wish to extend your rental period, you must contact Vibe Rentals as soon as possible, but no later than 48 hours before your original return date. o Extensions are subject to vehicle availability. Vibe Rentals cannot guarantee the same vehicle will be available for the extended period, but we will do our best to accommodate your request.
2. Extension Charges:
- The cost for the extended rental period will be calculated based on the daily rate applicable at the time of the extension request.
- Any changes in seasonal rates or promotions during the extended period will apply to the extension.
3. Payment for Extensions:
- Payment for the rental extension must be made immediately upon approval of the extension request. Failure to make payment may result in the extension being canceled, and the vehicle must be returned by the original agreed date and time.
4. Insurance and Coverage:
- The same insurance terms and coverage that applied during the original rental period will continue to apply during the extended rental period.
- Any additional insurance coverage or liability reduction options must be confirmed for the extended rental period.
5. Failure to Notify:
- If the renter fails to request an extension and does not return the vehicle on the original return date, late return fees may apply, as outlined in the Late Returns section.
13. Optional Extras
Vibe Rentals offers a variety of optional extras to enhance your rental experience. These can be added during the booking process or at the time of pick-up, subject to availability.

- To facilitate and manage your booking.
- To comply with legal obligations (e.g., verifying driver’s license).
- For customer support and service.
- For payment processing and security deposit management.
- To send you relevant communication regarding your booking or any promotions (if you have opted in).
3. Data Protection:
- Vibe Rentals is committed to protecting your privacy and takes appropriate security measures to safeguard your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
- We store personal information securely and limit access to only those employees or partners who need it for business purposes.
4. Sharing of Personal Information:
- Vibe Rentals may share your personal information with trusted third parties for the purpose of processing payments, providing roadside assistance, or other services related to your rental.
- We will not sell or rent your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.
- Personal information may be disclosed to legal authorities or insurance providers in the event of an accident, traffic violation, or other legal matters.
5. GPS Tracking (if applicable):
- Some of Vibe Rentals’ vehicles may be equipped with GPS tracking systems for security and fleet management purposes.
- GPS data may be used to locate the vehicle in case of theft, accident, or violation of the rental agreement (e.g., driving in prohibited areas).
- By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you consent to the collection and use of GPS data as described.
6. Access and Corrections:
- You have the right to access and correct any personal information we hold about you. If you wish to update or correct your information, please contact Vibe Rentals directly.
7. Retention of Information:
- Vibe Rentals will retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law.

10. Changes to Privacy Policy:
- Vibe Rentals reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and continued use of our services will signify your acceptance of the updated policy.
15. Legal Disclaimers
1. Liability Limitation:
- Vibe Rentals is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, damage to personal property, or injury, that may occur as a result of renting or using the vehicle.
- Vibe Rentals is not responsible for delays, interruptions, or damages caused by factors beyond our control, such as natural disasters, weather conditions, road closures, or traffic accidents.
- The renter is solely responsible for the use and condition of the vehicle during the rental period and agrees to indemnify and hold Vibe Rentals harmless from any claims, demands, or actions arising from their use of the vehicle.
2. Insurance Limitation:
- The renter is responsible for understanding the limitations of the insurance coverage provided by Vibe Rentals. Certain damages or incidents, including but not limited to overhead damage, underbody damage, water damage, or damage caused by negligent use, are not covered by the insurance policy.
- Renters are encouraged to review the insurance options available and select any additional coverage or liability reduction that suits their needs.
3. Road Use:
- Vibe Rentals is not responsible for any damage or loss resulting from driving the vehicle in prohibited areas or on restricted roads as outlined in the rental agreement.
- The renter is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is driven only on allowed roads and that all traffic laws and regulations are adhered to.
4. Third-Party Services:
- Vibe Rentals may provide information or refer renters to third-party service providers, such as campgrounds, activities, or travel services. Vibe Rentals is not responsible for any agreements, services, or actions conducted by these third parties and does not guarantee their services.
5. Vehicle Operation:
- The renter agrees to operate the vehicle in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Vibe Rentals is not liable for any legal penalties, fines, or fees incurred by the renter during the rental period.
- Renters are responsible for understanding the operation of the vehicle, including all safety features and equipment provided. Vibe Rentals will provide instructions and demonstrations where necessary, but the renter assumes full responsibility for the safe operation of the vehicle.
6. Jurisdiction and Governing Law:
- These Terms and Conditions and any disputes arising from the rental agreement shall be governed by the laws of New Zealand.
- Any legal actions or claims related to the rental agreement must be brought in the courts of New Zealand.
7. Severability:
- If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed from the
agreement, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
8. Entire Agreement:
- These Terms and Conditions, along with the rental agreement and any associated policies, constitute the entire agreement between the renter and Vibe Rentals. No oral representations or statements by Vibe Rentals' staff or agents shall modify these terms unless agreed to in writing.
16. Special Terms
1. Seasonal Restrictions:
- Certain restrictions or surcharges may apply during peak seasons (e.g., Christmas, New Year, school holidays). These will be communicated at the time of booking.
- Minimum rental periods may increase during peak seasons or special holidays.
2. Long-Term Rentals:
- For rentals exceeding 30 days, special rates or conditions may apply. Renters interested in long-term rentals are encouraged to contact Vibe Rentals directly to discuss their specific needs.
- Long-term rentals may require interim vehicle checks or maintenance. The renter will be informed of any required check-ups during the rental period.
3. Promotional Offers:
- From time to time, Vibe Rentals may offer special promotions, discounts, or packages. These offers are subject to availability and may come with specific terms and conditions that override standard policies.
- Promotional rates cannot be applied retroactively to existing bookings unless explicitly stated in the offer.
4. Public Holidays and Out-of-Hours Pick-Up/Drop-Off:
- Rentals starting or ending on public holidays may incur additional charges.
- Pick-up or drop-off outside of regular business hours (8:30 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday to Friday) may be arranged by appointment only, and additional fees may apply.
5. Special Equipment or Vehicle Requests:
- If renters have specific vehicle requests (e.g., a specific model, color, or configuration), Vibe Rentals will do its best to accommodate the request but cannot guarantee it. Vehicle allocation is based on availability.
- Special equipment requests (e.g., child seats, bike racks) must be made in advance and are subject to availability.
6. Special Insurance or Waiver Terms:
- Renters may choose to add special insurance or waiver options, such as roadside assistance or additional liability reduction. These options will be discussed and confirmed at the time of booking.
- Some waiver options may have exclusions or additional terms. Renters are encouraged to review these carefully before purchase.
